Actor Lee Sun-gyun, 48, who was under police investigation for allegedly taking drugs, has been found dead.

The Seongbuk Police Station in Seoul said on Sunday that Lee was found dead in a vehicle parked on the side of a road in Seongbuk-dong, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. Police responded to the scene after receiving a 112 call and found Lee. There were reportedly signs of an attempted suicide at the scene of the accident.

It was confirmed that the police received a report at 10:12 a.m. on the same day, stating that Lee had left home the day before and had not returned to date. The caller was Lee's manager, who reportedly left a suicide note.

Lee has been under police investigation since the beginning of this year for allegedly violating the Narcotics Control Act. He was suspected of administering various types of drugs, including cannabis and ketamine, at the home of A, 29, the manager of a sex shop in Gangnam. Following a simple reagent test, Lee tested negative in the first and second tests at the National Institute of Scientific Investigation.
